As we know U.S. Presidents usually come and go. Before they come and go they must give a inauguration or farewell speech. This has happened with all 43 Presidents including our new 44 President Barrack Obama. From reading the Eisenhower's Farewell Address to the nation, "This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence – economic, political, even spiritual – is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society." he talks about how he is warning America of the military-industrial complex, which has happened with the Bush administration and how the U.S. went to war with Iraq.
The way President Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell speech connects with the what George W. Bush and the Iraq war is that before the war at Iraq their was a organizations called (PNAC) Project for the new American century and what they did in this organizations was advocate the use of American military power. This organizations was founded by William Kristol and Robert Kagan in the early 1997. The way it still connects is by is when Donald Rumsfeld from Project for the new American century sent a letter to President Bill Clinton to go to war in Iraq but, President Bill Clinton said no and didn't want anything to do with the whole plan with what Project for the new American century."In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist." Later when George W. Bush became President the attack in 911 happened and about nine days passed and the Project for the new American century sent a letter to Bush to remove Saddam Hussein from power and fix Iraq and that's how the War begin. that also wasn't why we went to war with Iraq.
Halliburton a Energy Services Group (ESG) is a bushiness that deals with oil and gas. Before George W. Bush became President his Vice President Dick Cheney was once a CEO for the company Halliburton. Doesn't this give us a clue into why the U.S. went to war with Iraq my best guess was for oil in Iraq. Then that leads us to another organization called KBR and what they do are a company that constructs refineries, oil fields, pipelines, and chemical plants. When the Iraq war started in the mid 2000's KBR stared to make deals with the U.S. military and the invasion happen on Iraq. The war was also for gaining oil from the country of Iraq. The way this all connects with President Dwight D. Eisenhower's farewell speech is that that the U.S. gave power to another country like, Iraq and then Project for the new American century comes in to go to war while, CEO of Halliburton and Vice President of the U.S. Dick Cheney comes in with also going in the war to get oil.
Due to all what has been happening in Iraq many people of the U.S. are paying for what looks to be a rescission because of the money being pumped to the Iraq war. Is this what Dwight D. Eisenhower was trying to warn us about being in a military-industrial complex? President Dwight D. Eisenhower once said in farewell speech that,"We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together." Every since we step in to a war and taken out it's power why are we still in Iraq?
In conclusion history looked like it would have repeated itself due to what Bush did for jumping into the war, but their is hope still in one man. President Barrack Obama has a lot of work on his hands as the new President of the United States. many people saw how President Dwight D. Eisenhower was right in a way about the things that could happen to the U.S. when military-industrial complex is in effect. "This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. Theirs just hope we need to start to build the U.S. by scratch.
