Charles Darwin's 200th birthday

what responsibility do we have for the understanding of science?
I really don't think we have responsibility of understanding science but wondering what science is and what its done to us by always making us think. I only makes us want to find out the truth of certain things and wonder what eles is out their in the world of science, for example a Japanese scientist by the name of Tsunemi Kubodera was always trying to research giant squids or at least see a live specimens until he made his breakthrough in the world of science, he caught a live giant squid on camera. This shows a how science is growing each and everyday by discovering new things in our world.

what role should scientific inquiry and scientific knowledge play in our own society?
Well the role that science makes in our own society is usually making us think and wonder how things are created or were they come from like the dispute of "what came first the chicken or the egg?" no one has yet came with the answer of who came first but this is where the thinking happens and wondering.

How should science influence our decisions, laws, and culture?
The way science influence our decisions in laws and cultures is by using our heads better and finding ways make decisions with our minds.
