1. Economic advice to Barack Obama?
The blog I would say is good about giving advice to Barack Obama is Amanda's blog because it covers a lot about making the US go green and why money should be used to help befits us with going green to protect from global warming. Her blog is also good because she gives us specific quotes that help her with her statements get through to the reader for example when Amanda was explaining what a bailout was and what it was doing for banks. She then uses one Frank Rich's quotes that clears the point of bailouts.
"Most “ordinary Americans” still don’t understand why banks got billions while nothing was done (and still isn’t being done) to bail out those who lost their homes, jobs and retirement savings."
Another thing she well was when she used other resources then quotes, when she spoke about the environment and economy and used a graph to show what we should do, help the environment or economy and it shows what the US has been doing then she hits it with her ideas in what she would do.
2. Literary Analysis?
A blog that's outstanding and relates with Literary Analysis is Diana Barlow's blog on the book “A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini because she tells the readers how the book has many literary devices like irony, symbolism and metaphors to give the reader a better understanding of what is going on with the character and the story. She even gives us better understandings of each literary devices by giving us a quote from the book that uses a certain literary devices and then with a explanation on why she picked that quote and what it meant. For example when she was explaining symbolism and how Mariam gave up her life for Laila and look out for her.
“Mariam is in Laila's own heart, where she shines with the bursting radiance of a thousand suns.” (page 366)
This is why I would say here blog is a outstanding one to look at and get ideas for future ones that deal with Literary Analysis.
3. Historical Writing?
A blog that has a good example of Historical Writing is Jacob Harris's blog because in his blog "The Second Coming" he connects Franklin Delano Roosevelt with Obama because of what is happening with the recession that's happening today. I liked how he connected them because FDR experienced the Great Depression and what he did well was use is used FDR's First Inaugural Address speech to connect both people and events.
"Our greatest primary task is to put people to work …treating the task as we would treat the emergency of a war,"
In this piece that Jacob used from the Inaugural Address was good because he explained how FDR was trying to get the people to see the problem with the Great Depression and WWII.
4. Anything else that makes blogs great?
Another thing that makes a blog good is how you site your sources because siting them professionally makes it look good and clean for people to search on their own. For example the way I sited my sourcesit makes it look clean and it tells where i got the info from, when I got it, and who the author is.
