1. Arana writes: "Isn't it time for the language to move on?" How do you feel about this? Why?
In Marie Arana's paper He's Not Black, Arana try's to use our prsident elect Obama to get people into opening their eyes and not mark someone for the color from their skin. she even used many great examples of connections with herself and Obama about how both parents are two different races. she puts it in her words so that we can feel the same way if were half a certain race when we read the article.
I felt that Marie Arana made all of her clear in article like also connecting today's people of the media like Ne-Yo, Halle Berry and Tiger Woods and how they all come from different back grounds but, because of their skin people mark them as black in the black community. A good example of this that Arana uses in the text is about a girl who was born in Germany and was half black and German, but many still only puts her in the black category. this still shows why many black people and the media still think Obama made history even though he is half black.
I still think that when people judge by your skin tone then that wrong language should be the one because today many Americans are mixed around just like dogs we to are consider mutts. Arana even puts herself in the first person which many don't really do in articles. She explains how her family isn't so different from Obamas because her family are to different races.
