Why not choose one "Bush"?
President George W. Bush has been trying to make it up to all the U.S. by starting to protecting the oceans. Bush's plan is to crate three new marine national monuments in the Pacific Ocean. Which would make him be the only environmentalists to protect the most oceanic ecosystems. But I say why protect already when you you destroyed a lot of the planet by drilling for coal and oil and gas. While now when your dirty work has already encouraged more countries to do the same, when we need to help encourage others to use fuel efficient, and clean resources to help protect from green house gases.
"The most shameful thing we've done of all is to walk away from the international debate on climate, which has crippled the debate and caused everyone else in the world to think that we're hypocritical and deluded," says Bill McKibben, author and climate activist. "The Chinese have all the coal they need to destroy the atmosphere by themselves to get rich, and we have no moral objection as to why they shouldn't just go ahead and burn it, because that's precisely what we did."
While Bush is trying to protect the oceans other animal such as polar bears are losing there homes and live to the green house gases due to all the pollution. Little by little the atmosphere is getting destroyed and soon we hope change will come to make a difference in the way we use energy and a way to protect the planet, people, and animals.
But what should we think of Bush for wanting to change his mind before his term is over by saving the seas? As from the article I read Bush is actually protecting species such as crabs, birds, sharks and other sea life in the Pacific Ocean. Many
environmentalists think that Bush plan is a great idea to study many species. But others such as Michael Nussman, president of the American Sportfishing Association which thinks its a bad idea because of the people who make a living of of fishing.
"If you're going to keep the public out of a public area, you need a darned good reason to do that," said Nussman, whose group represents manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers who supply the sport fishing industry. "We don't think they've met that 'darned good reason' test."
So many might think its good that Bush is protecting the ocean but with all these arguments about keeping the air clean then we must first find a way to protect the
species that really need us because of drilling and green house gases. We must also start thinking of our future before trying to saving something else.
