I already knew but, my family has been part of the farming culture. I always wondered why my grandmother had so many plants and fruit trees because of her family background. I recently spoke to her and asked why she loved gardening and working outside. She started telling me that when she would visit her grandparents she would help them on the farm in Mexico. My grandmother and her siblings would go and help with things like planting crops, killing chickens, planting trees, milking cows, watching kids and trying to make a living, because many people only had enough to support the family and my grandmother and her family would work to support and with noting to play with like toys, they would have to work on the farm and this was their way of having fun. She would tell me that the way her and my aunts and uncles would work would follow them. She told me thats why she loves gardening plants and working outside because everyday it reminds her of home. My grandmother even started teaching my cousins and siblings to start planting and making our home greener.
